Strategic Communications
By employing a strategic approach to messaging, an organization proactively communicates with specific audiences using a variety of tools and tactics to tell its story. I develop strategic communications plans to help guide a team's work over a set period of time, or to support a specific project or initiative. Together, we will define your target audience(s), develop primary messages, and execute a plan that's designed to meet your organization's communication goals.
Crisis Communications & Management
Quick, clear, and accurate communications are essential in effectively managing a crisis. I have extensive experience leading communications during public health and safety emergencies, matters of community trust and public perception, and natural disasters. I am skilled at developing and delivering communications during high-stress, fast-paced, and challenging situations.
Writing & Storytelling
Stories are how we relay our experiences to one another and are key to communicating who we are as individuals, as groups, as businesses, as organizations, and as institutions. Whether I'm writing a profile of a volunteer, a member's personal story, or a CEO's journey to leadership, I craft a narrative that moves and inspires readers.
Leadership Consulting & C-Suite Training
Strategic plans help to guide an organization's focus during a particular period of time, but what can't be captured in strategic plans are issues that arise in day-to-day work. I have experience managing unexpected incidents in the here and now, as well as preparing leaders for imminent change or challenges. From situation assessment, to preparing for possible outcomes, through the best possible resolution, I work with leaders on navigating an unfolding crisis, or training for an event that could take place without notice.
Communications Management & Asset Evaluation
A strong and effective communications program hinges on an organization's commitment to building a talented team of professionals, providing them with necessary resources, and creating an environment that encourages them to thrive. I work with organizations and businesses to assess communications programs, develop structures that align with current trends and best practices, and assemble teams of creative communicators.
